I would first have to find out how he became that way and then place the blame where it needed to be
Abuse is wrong no matter who you are and should not be lived with but I could never dislike one of my children

whats good is that you know hes abusive. You should explore all options to keep him and you safe :). My cousin had to go to miliary school or boot camp.... you love him but his behavior is wrong.

No, it's not wrong to dislike him. Just because you have blood ties with someone doesn't mean you will blend with their personality or respect their character.

I have found out that children often will put up up a fit or abuse people because of something they are trying to prove. do you ever find yourself trying to control the things he does? Criticize him? argue? all these things are definitely going to trigger him into being abusive with you. no matter you should never dislike him. and of course you can't just ignore it. but you should never tell him that he is pathetic or he is doing everything wrong. that won't get him anywhere. focus on the good things about him maybe he'll notice and change. if he is physically abusing you to the point where you're getting hurt and you can't do anything about it. seek help.

It's wrong not to get the guy help. Husband, get rid of him. Son is different. You gave birth to him and you can't put him back. You don't say how old he is. You can love someone very much and dislike their behavior. Has he come from an abusive family? I personally would love him enough to try to get help. If he's under age, you can both try talking with a professional who deals with this type of behavior. If he's not a minor, you may need help getting him to a professional. I think it's worth it.

No, there is no reason to like someone who abuses you. You may still love him in an abstract sense, but you don't have to like him.

You don't have to love someone because you're related to them. I hate my mother, even though she gave birth to me.
