If you're at a friend's house and you HATE what they're serving for dinner, what do you do?

Be polite and eat small bites. If you simple cannot swallow it wipe your mouth and spit it in your napkin.Tell your host it was a good dinner and excuse yourself to flush the disgusting food.

Depends on what it is; if it's lamb or liver, even if I eat a bit of it, it won't stay down. I would eat some of everything else being served, and if asked, apologise. My friends already know this, however.

"Oh My! I am So Sorry! But I have a life-threatening food allergy to ____ (whatever it is they are serving)"
Then there is the ploy where you grab your chest, groan in feigned pain, and say "Quick, someone please give me an aspirin, I think I am having a heart attack."
If these are "Friends" you really don't like, but they are your spouse/partner's long time friends, you can always surreptitiously mix salt into your beverage and drink it causing you to vomit all over their beautiful linen table cloth. After that, they'll be happy to see you leave.Like (2)

Pick at it, move it around on my plate, cover it up with the rice and, if asked, probably make up some lame excuse about an upset stomach.

Nah I respect another's quantity of food, sometimes its best to let them have all they can get. Times are rough.Like (1)

I was raised to take a small amount and compliment the cook. Politeness is a lost art.
