I would simply wait till there was room to go around, or if that was possible simply say, excuse me please... I need to get past. (and after say, "thanks")

I am quite light on my feet so I weave and dance around them. I have thought that a bicycle bell in my pocket would be a good ting though.

politely say excuse me first then if that doesnt work get loud and beligerant with it and say "EXCUSE MEH" in different tones repeatedly until they get the hell out of your way. they will be annoyed by this and move.

Well, as a born and bred native New Yorker...I am used to it, as the place has so so so many people one can't help but get in the way sometimes.
Simple I just squeeze my way through and keep on walking, nothing is going to stop me...lol I say excuse me once or twice, then if they don't like it..they can eat sh!t and bark at the moon

that is what the bumpers on you car are for! slip it in neutral, rev your engine, then pop it back in gear....it will clear a path promptly.
