My husband didn't propose....not exactly. One day I was really irritated with him about something, I don't remember what it was anymore but I was totally exasperated and said something like, "I give up. It's your life, we're not married and from now on what you do is your own business." His reply was "I think we should be" which took the conversation in an entirely new direction in a hurry, lol. It caught me by surprise and I think I said, "What!? We should be what? You spend I don't know how long trying to convince me this is all a waste of my time and now you want to get married!?".....Not very romantic but that's how it happened, lol.

We had been dating three months, when he called me from France while on a business trip. He said there was something important he wanted to "discuss" with me upon his return. I had no idea what this could have been, but the "discuss" part, had me a little concerned.
He came straight from the airport to my place, unpacked gifts he bought for me, then talked about the trip, life, family dynamics, his future plans, etc. Then said, "So what do you say...do you want to get married?" A little stunned, I asked him if I missed the part where he formally asked me to marry him. He went on to say he wanted to marry me and gave a few reasons why.
