You're probably trying to avoid pain. But avoiding pain's impossible; you'll avoid the pain of "real life" but can't avoid the pain of loneliness and being obsolete. So I guess it's about which of these two kinds of pain you most want to avoid.

That's good, creativity heightens, thought deepens, Imagination widens but there is always a bad side to that. Losing your grasp on reality and sometimes mixing them up. Escaping reality doesn't make it stop. The reason we are supposed to dream at night is for us to be able to explore new options while satisfying or unsatisfying our own imagination. This is the reason behind Dr. Seuss's book, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus. The book shows a man who can control another world of unlimited imagination and creativity, but he shows the danger of being there and making the wrong choices. It shows how we could determine our being by living it not by dreaming it. Dreaming is good for our minds but dreams can take away time in reality.
