    I meant that it just odd to all the sudden be requesting friends with benefits privileges. From people I don't even know.

    Not it's not. There are about 50 horny guys for every horny woman. What's odd is that only three asked. When you're a guy it rapidly becomes apparent that you have to ask maybe three hundred women before you actually get laid so just asking with no real expectation of getting anything becomes the norm.
