Great big, empty parking lot for sure. Don't let her get too near the edges. Keep calm at all times, and give her lots of positive encouragement. Tell her how well she is doing.

Let me tell you to be prepared to want to yell. I know I did when I taught my daughter to drive and so did my girlfriend when she taught her daughter to drive. If you can do this without yelling, your daughter will appreciate it.

Make sure your insurance is paid up, then think of paying a professional to teach her---one try was enough before my wife came into the house ready to kill the kid after 5 minutes of trying to teach her to drive.

Like Frank said, big empty parking lot, practice reversing into a parking space, turn signals, stopping abruptly and from a distance smoothly, if possible bring some tall decoys so they know how far or close to pull up to another car, how to spot things in their rearview and side mirrors, MAKE SURE to teach them how to merge properly, and look over their shoulder for that blind spot, and let her know to not drive with both feet ever.

Take her to a cemetery; it's where I learned and where my children learned. Have pretend traffic signals up ahead, etc. Then we worked our way up to a large shopping center on Sunday morning. Most importantly, REMAIN CALM! ;-)
