I like melodic jazz. Check out Lester Young or John Coltrane's Ole album.

I can't really recommend a good song, but you can check out some artists. I think of drums, and Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich are amazing. This is going back to the 1950s during the Beatnik era. They go way before that in time as well.

Maybe you will like, maybe you won't. Good luck to you. I hope you find what you are looking for. Me, I found the blues. Guitar style.

Oscar Peterson, C note blues / miles Davis : the entire So What album / Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell - all great jazz guitarists. duke Ellington - stomping at the savoy, Clifford brown - Delilah, and I always like Spaceways Incorporated. They do some great Funkadelic covers, but it's out there.
