I'm not religious but today in Marks & Spencer I heard a woman tell her friend that she prayed for him and I thought ...
..... how wonderful that was and how lucky that person is to have someone to put out positive energy into the universe just for them
Here's the question:
How would someone praying for you make you feel? (whether you're religious or not).

I'm not religious, but depending on what they prayed about concerning me, I'd feel touched.

i was left homeless, when i was give a home i had nothing, an old man who lives near by, some one i had never met, found out and brought me a chair, a table and a rug, he said he had noticed my crucifix and new i was a christian, he told me he did not believe in god but his old mum did, she told him if you are good to people god will be good to you. i am a christian my friends and strangers have prayed for me, yet that one gesture from a stranger showed me there is more kindness in this world than we give credit for, the fact you think it is wonderful that person is lucky, is enough for god to smile at you. having some pray for you, is no different than some one opening a door, or a strangers smile, its good to know the world still has nice people in it.

Great. I don't expect anyone to do it, but it would be very nice to know that they did.

that sounds like the other person was in big trouble. i only say i ll pray for you when theres nothing positive i can say and also the other person knows that nothing can be done. its very hard to say tho, always makes me cry. so guess i wouldnt be happy.if i was told in other situation i d be very very suprised, maybe i d be embarrassed, i d feel odd

My (extended) family is really religious and they'll pray for anyone they feel needs it, including me. With them I don't mind because they're praying for me to find happiness and overcome bad situations. My immediate family prays for me to "become normal." That angers me. So it depends on what they're praying for.

I think I'd find it a bit weird. The intention might be nice but the thought of someone saying a sort of magic spell with my name in it creeps me out a bit.
