I'm still seriously thinking that if everyone in the world each filled one empty 5 litre water bottle up with sea water.

And stored the full bottle under the stairs.. would it would solve rising sea levels.....?

Heck of an idea but alas, I don't think it would work. Now maybe if we make a huge garden hose and syphon one of our oceans over to Mars, now were talkin' :D

There's something like 1,300,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres in the worlds oceans.
If we have say around 7 billion people on the planet and each takes 5 litres we're talking 35,000,000,000 litres. So we're talking only around 0.0000000026% taken out. It's not going to make much difference unfortunately.

I don't really know. If everyone in the world gathered in one place and jumped in the air at the same time, could the impact knock the earth a bit off its orbit around the sun?

Really? That sucks. I thought this was my idea. I guess that goes to show you that if you think of something, someone else has already thought of it before. Man, that really sucks.

... is that a bit like jumping at the last minute to save your life if your elevator is crashing to the ground?
