Hi kellymcgrady
I think if you are scared then you should examine it. It is a defense mechanism not ridiculous. People die in car crashes a lot. They tidy them up really quickly so people do not realize te carnage.
Driving a car is a very serious business. I think your attitude is absolutely the right attitude to have.
There are very bad drivers out there. One rammed me from behind after we had both been stationary at a junction. He was looking at the traffic flow and floored his accelerator and hit my car. I asked why he did it and he said he thought I had gone. I was right there! He did not even look ahead of him.

No need to be scared. True, there are lots of crashes, but cars are pretty safe now. Fatalities are quite unusual in a car as opposed to, on a bike say.

concerned, but not terrified. the percent of survival is vastly in your favor. if you aren't reckless or don't drive drunk, your odds are even better. you can't predict impaired drivers, but watch out for them. WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT. good luck and enjoy driving!

I'm terrified of being burned alive!

And yet, I love burning candles and incense! And playing with fire...

Just be careful.
You will most likely crash sometime, but the chances of it being lethal aren't terribly high.

It is a silly fear some people have, But if it worries you so much it effects your confidence on the road ,then don`t drive ,until you get rid of it as nervious drivers can cause accidents , and you can be so careful that you actually end up in an accident.
But rest assured i have driven alsorts of ,cars trucks, etc been driving for 39yrs and not even been close to a bad accident.

Depends on where you live, how well you drive, and how developed you sense of reflex is... though what would I know, I can't drive, never will be able to.
