#1. Do Not Consume as many Wheat Products, such as bread, even as people always say how wonderful it is; pat your belly as you read Wheat Belly by Dr. Davis.<br />
#2: Keep your daily carbohydrate intake to roughly 100 grams (or maybe less for you) . . . quit sobbing . . . woman-up<br />
#3: Soda to Mom's apple pie, sugar will kill you; don't take personal responsibility and blame your Mommy, Gerber's, or Coke. No Soda or Diet Soda!<br />
#4: Exercise Will Increase Weight Loss: don't be Arnold, muscle is heavier than fat and a muscle-head is as bad as a fat-head. Light to moderate exercise: mix aerobics with strength training.<br />
#5: A 2lb. a Week Weight Loss is Healthy: more than that and you are in danger of becoming an anorexic super-model. <br />
#6: There are ways to Speed up Your Metabolism . . . use spices instead of sugar; spice up your soup life . . . concentrate, I said SOUP. . . not, SEX!!!<br />
#7: Water Naturally Curbs Your Appetite . . . especially if you can't swim, drown, and get eaten by sharks. Drink water before you eat, in between meals, and green tea.<br />
#8: Fiber (sans gluten) Will Help with Weight Loss . . .chew slowly, take time at meals; don't eat your shag carpet. <br />
#9. Fruit and especially vegetable intake must increase. No nutrition bars as snacks but find better snacks if you have to snack.<br />
#10. Read, read, read, and develop your own program. Don't be discouraged you will reach certain plateaus and will feel like what you are doing is not working. Give time for your body to adjust to any weight loss . . . say you go from your 175 to 165 and are there for about a week, more or less, don't worry, your body is just adjusting. Also, your weight will fluctuate during any 24 hour period by as much as 2-3 lbs. don't let that discourage you. <br />

I believe in less-carbohydrates and sugar in general, and especially to the 2/3rds of the American population that is overweight or obese but, be careful because of the danger involved of depleting glycogen (storage form of glucose i.e., energy) or causing catabolism (which is not fear of cats but the eating away of lean muscle tissue). When I say stop the wheat and reduce the sugar, which goes against whole wheat bread advocacy, and industries relying on your sugar addiction, I will be using other carbohydrate and sugar substitutes in moderation. If you read labels you'll be shocked to know that wheat and/or fructose is practically in every processed food and drink product without the manufacturers having the good manners to warn you that consumption may be hazardous to your health.<br />

Now some people do not believe in counting calories; but, I think a good rule is that you have to burn off more calories than you take in on 6 out of 7 days. The seventh day you can "cheat" a little and fulfill that ice cream desire or something like that.

Start running. For real...you will run a lot in basic. Calorie restriction will cause you to lose weight but you will lose muscle mass with it.

Just eat reasonably, no snacks, only water.<br />

Walk a mile or two 3,4 times a week and you will lose 3,4 pounds a week. <br />
<br />
Don't get discouraged, you did not put it on in a day and it won't come off in a day.<br />
<br />
Just keep thinking about all the money you will get for college, the skill training, the travel.....the fact that you will be out of the house and on your own...<br />
