No. Not really. It's a cultural thing, though. I'm mixed race and have experienced what you are going through more than once and I've had to face some really awful things from some parents. Just hang in there and be respectful to his family if you really like him.

Black people are still Bitter and more racial than any race. We go against our own race.... Black people have that crab in a bucket mentality . **** skin color.. LOVE your Man and if he Loves you, thats all that matters. YOUR FAMILY is beginning with the Head and TAIL... HIM & YOU!

Best Answer

Ignore everyone who is saying its racism, coz its not. Its a mindset thing. A black family always believe white is better (i know ,im black), so their rejection of you is based on the fear that one day you'll wake up and regret to realise you "married down" and leave their son hanging high and dry going back to white men. And its to do with the culture shock thing: what do they do with a white daughter in law. Music, food and lifestyle differences can be worrying. What to do? Hang in there. Deep down the parents are pleased their son got a white girl. Its an ego thing.
