Assuming you already know about looking before you leap and grass being greener, etc, it might be a good idea to carefully and honestly examine your motives. If they are trustable, then the rest becomes fairly routine (ah, much easier to say that when I don't have to do it!).

you have to split up with your wife or come clean with her and end the affair or live a lie and let the guilt destroy you...seek counseling no matter what so you can stop creating pain for everyone. especially yourself.
you are really afraid of intimacy and do not ever feel safe because you do not trust anyone as you know what you are capable of.
you really already know all this at some level but do not want to deal with the pain.
just do it so you can love and be really loved.
