    the way I understand it is that it was an illegal substance in England and the pilgrims took seed when they left...much as they took seed for regular vegetables...and they began cultivating it here in America...EVEN THOUGH it was illegal...and the crown would have you arrested if they found out...well as we know we gained our freedom...and we kept growing it...If you get right down to the pins and tacks of it...America was technically built on Tobacco...

    Red man chew is actually not bad, I've also had my fair share of the snuff which I liked as well definitely a different kind of addiction. I didn't stick with either but I did enjoy them for a short time. Never had the tea or jelly but id try em.
