In life, what are the things that make you happy and why aren't you doing it when you are sad?

Sadness often comes when we don't have the energy to carry out the activities we like. We have to learn to manage our strength, give our body and mind a rest when we seem to go round in circles.

Do you mean sad or depressed?

When you're depressed, it's as if the light has been switched off and even the things that make you happy don't anymore. There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel - only the tunnel, going on and on, in interminable darkness. No end, no end in sight. Everything is too much trouble. People are nuisances instead of helps. There is no joy. It is as if joy is but a distant, unattainable memory.

If you're lucky, you can find your way out by yourself. Oftentimes, it takes a mad action to act as a cry for the help you don't feel you deserve and feel won't make a difference anyway.

Maybe that explains why we don't do things when we're depressed.
