In the Gospel of Luke (20:29-36), Jesus says marriage condemns our soul. Why hasn't anyone noticed this?
When Jesus was asked about the resurrection of the body by the Sadducees (Jewish sect) he explained, using marriage to prove his point, that "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage".
This is very clear, that those who marry are denied resurrection from the dead and from entry into "that age", which is Heaven.
I'm interested in hearing what other Christians have to say about this? Marriage is contrary to Christ's message of attaining heaven! What do EP members think?

I have a bible and it in NO way says that...It rambles on about the 7 brothers who each in turn married the same woman and subsequently died,.with no children made..So i don't know where you got your diary (Walmart ?)
Other references (within the first half of Luke) say that once married,.always married.
So that any second marriage or more,.is classified as "adultery"..
So really theres all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff if you look for it and then make interpretations etc...
Its maybe worth cross-referencing with Harry Potter.

Seriously? If you look at what's going on, Jesus is facing a bunch of religious wackos who, just like a lot of other people, take his words out of context to fit their small-minded needs to justify their own behaviors and thougt processes.
If you really want to know the truth, then get your eyes off yourself and what eveyone else says, open your mind and heart and then take a really good look at him.

The bible makes other mentions of people who remain celibate and marriage-less being more holy, probably because during that time, the only ones who didn't marry and have sex were eunuchs and clergy. You have to think of the bible in terms of the time it was written for.

no my silly friend : in Islam a guy is allowed to have 4 wives on this world and only on heavens (that's because most of those guys are pervs and it's better to marry 4 woman than do some strange ****) and in Christianity you can have one wife on this world (because it stops you from being faggy or rapist). In Christian heaven there is no gender, skin colour or anything carnal.
Those who are able to remain virgin will probably find it easy in heavens, but straight guys will go there too.If you're 50 and have to wear diapers...tuff luck.
