You're absolutely right. The "government" was founded in a time when the literacy rate was well below ten percent and the elected representatives of congress were a few of the most educated people of the state. Their intention was to accurately represent the people with their safety in mind. Today most people are informed and able to make their own decisions but they are still caught in the government net of "we know what is good for you".

The unfortunate truth is that the government has gone from caretaker to bully and given what happened in furgison it is clear they are not able to enforce large amounts of people doing what they want to do.

Do what you want

At the end of the day nobody can really stop you. Law or no law. It's not a good idea though. Just my opinion.

And what about the people that pay their health insurance, and pay their medical bills and get arrested for using marijuana to treat their chronic pain?

Best Answer

Marijuana is a harmful drug that impairs motor skills and judgement..it's a danger if someone's high on it while driving etc., You haven't gone to the doctor, but when you OD or some such, guess who pays?

Best Answer

no one has OD on marijuana. And alcohol impairs your judgement and motor skills.

Best Answer

We're talking about marijuana, not alcohol. Marijuana still impairs motor skills and such, and daily smokers have gotten sick after stopping cold turkey.

Best Answer

So why is alcohol allowed and not marijuana if it does the same thing? And how many people have you known who got high on MJ and gone home to beat their wife? Yet how many have gotten drunk and done exactly that?

Best Answer

Alcohol doesn't do the same thing. One beer has a different impact on you when compared to one blunt. One shot of whiskey isn't going to impair you like a blunt does. One glass of wine isn't going to impair you like one blunt does. See where I'm going with this? Your argument is essentially stating "x is pretty bad...so y, which is bad..should be OK, as it's not as bad as x"..does that honestly make sense to you? The marijuana related accident rate has gone up something like 33% in Colorado..after they legalized it..coincidence?
