Is a jogging a mile and two tenths in eight minutes horrible?

Just wondering if that is normal or if I am a super fat kid and need to pick up the pace.

The actual pace is secondary although that seems pretty good to me. For maximum benefit you should be breathing hard at the end of it. Coughing up blood is too much. Able to sing a stanza from Oklahoma is too little. I think your fine.

No it is not bad at all. If you keep working you will be faster in no time.

It is ok. You should pick up the pace or run a longer distance every single workout. If you don't do this, you don't progress at all.

And always mix it up. Don't always make a two hour workout. Sometimes make a really efficient half an hour workout. Efficiency is really the key in exercise. Without efficiency making continuous progress is difficult.

    You should be ashamed -_-

    just kidding.

Doesn't even matter, I've learned not to compare myself to other people in the gym. Where I'm at is where I'm at, and I know that as long as I keep working hard, I'll be passing anyone better than me in no time.

I started like :( but then I was like :D and I have no one to compare with. more of a "beat yourself" type of thing.

I think that's a pretty good time for starting out ... back in the day would run 8 miles into school for my workout, that would take me just over an hour so figuring those were 8 minute miles ... but then again I hated to run and never pushed myself

Well I'm not exactly starting out haha. I'm starting back . So I know I will improve with time. But I remember in High School the Cross Country coach told me that women will always decrease in time whereas men will increase. He said it's just how it goes. :(

Well that's good to know. I mean I know most people couldn't do the mileage I do on a daily basis.
