Is ADHD even a disease or condition? I think shrinks keep concocting new abbreviations for their benefit.

Yeah, it seems like everyone's crazy then, every 'disease' or 'disorder' has a name and a treatment. When someone is not 'normal', according to their definition of normal, it's a 'disorder'...Curious what they would say about me.

It is just another excuse to keep more and more people medicated so the dont "wake up" to the reality of what is really going on around them.

No I just faked it for years. Also the medication just decided to work like the opposite of a stimulant because of no reason.....and the school and my parents just faked seeing positive effects from it.....
Can you at least ask a question nicely and explain what bothers you before spitting in the face of thousands? :S Those "medications" helped me a lot when I needed them and I live without them now....don't go stamp some "autism shot" logic flaw on medical science. You could end up hurting a lot of people that need help...Like (2)

See now you're being specific. That is much better in my opinion. You're worried about the medication not being needed or having side effects. I've had to deal with side-effects, that was pretty bad that's true. But asking that question is a good move to think about digging up the research or conducting a meta-research to cover the currently existing material on it. Is there ground to believe that this is a positive influence on the lives of people with ADHD or not. I hope you can find an answer for that question and forego this one.Like (1)

Its a condition. It can be (mostly) beaten but requires CBT (meds probably too). I'm beating mine ^_^ And yeah there's a lot of abbreviations that are cured with pills

It is considered a "disorder", which isn't the same as a disease.

I agree. This woman had a son who supposedly had this. His school teacher wanted him on medication so the mother sent him with a week's worth of sugar pills. At the end of the week she asked his teacher how he was doing. Her response was Oh he's doing much better! Wtf?
