I never have been before. After what happened this past week with the Air France flight, it really makes you stop and think, though.

My brother, who lived blocks from the World Trade Center, definitely had issues after 9/11. Then he took the train cross-country to see us, and readjusted his thinking after two days on a train. Now he just drinks a lot before he gets on one and therefore doesn't care what happens to him! Not a recommended approach, but, hey, it works for him!

I actually enjoy flying....I just like to get there...don't get into the 'journey' thing

These days we hear more because there are more planes in the skies, and bigger ones, so when something goes wrong, more casualties.

When it's your time to die....it beats a slow death with a terminal illness

Many people are but despite the shaking that some turbulence causes (which scares many persons), flying is FAR SAFER than whatever means of transportation you just used to GET TO THE AIRPORT! You risked yourself on the road with drunk drivers, senior citizens who should not be driving, ANGRY drivers, drivers on drugs, drivers driving UNSAFE vehicles with bad tires/brakes/etc.....and now you are afraid to fly in an airplane whose odds of having a problem are SO REMOTE, compared to the odds of you having just survived the trip to the airport? Yeah, it seems scary...but figure how many MILLIONS of miles and MILLIONS of passengers flew safely BEFORE the recent Air France disaster...yet just TODAY ALONE, 116 people on average, will DIE from automobile accident-related injuries. That means that just since that crash in which 228 passengers died, another 812 have DIED from automobile crashes...and that is JUST IN THE UNITED STATES ALONE! Get me on a plane...PRONTO!

I've heard that you are more likely to get hit by a falling airplane than you are to die in a airplane crash.

The flying part of if is no problem. I don't like the security excesses and I really don't like being jammed into a too-small seat.

Not scared, if the public even knew of half of the near misses and screw-ups(even with the safest airline in the world) they would see this most recent tragedy in perspective

I was nervous my first time, but actually loved it. We ran into heavy turbulence, and my brother and I were actually having awesome fun with all the bumping and stuff...but since the Air France thing, now I feel nervous....like, it makes me realize how much danger we might have been in....Now, I'm glad that, at least for the moment, I'm not going anywhere on a plane.

They say AEROplanes are safer than crossing a busy street!

THE size of them doesn't help much though!!
