Resolved Question

I've been a Nickelback fan for quite some time now....was excited about the new album but...i'm disappointed. i've listened to it several times and just can't get into it. I don't think it sounds like them....and that 'Gotta be Somebody' song gets on my nerves like no other! lol there are MAYBE 2 or 3 songs on the album that are tolerable, but that's about it. Anyone else feel the same? or just have comments about the album in general?

'Something In Your Mouth' is signature Chad Kroeger, and an awesome song. Very comparable to "Fight...Wrong Reasons" & "Animals". A bit too alike, if anything. They seem a bit stuck in the area of 'new material' - different words to the same song does not make it "new"! 'I'd Come For You' falls right in line with all the mainstream 80's hair band power ballad, which is it's appeal to me, as I am a child of the 80's. 'Just To Get High' a very poignant song that brings the desired emotional response to an already obvious truth, but spoken in a way that affects everyone some kind of way.
'If Today Was Your Last Day', same proverb restated, not a bad premise, but strikingly similiar to a Garth Brooks tune called 'If Tomorrow Never Comes'. Beautifully written and recorded, speaks to an unavoidable reality that eventually will befall us all. I agree about 'Gotta Be Somebody', not b-cuz it's a necessarily bad song, but everything they put out is immediately over played and worn out. Skip that song on the CD til the radio stations move on to the next dead horse to beat. Overall, not what I expected, but definitely Nickelback. Given that most of it repeats prior albums. BTW...'Savin Me' is the best song they have ever done, and although I am way to old for MTV & VH1, the video sent shivers through my entire body.
