    I don't think that you are shallow for wanting to look attractive, unless you want to for all of the wrong reasons, like OTHERS! But you obsess over it, it's true. I do to a degree, but I silently deal. I prefer to like others according to their personalities-not looks!

    It's definitely not a good thing and I hope it's not common. It's definitely a huge turn off.

    Fair enough. I'm not shallow and nor are the small handful of close friends and family I have. Perhaps we're just really exceptional. :-)

    Apparently all is shallow since we are about self-gratification, self-gratification, and everything is grounded on terms and conditions just to keep us humans in order and out of chaos.

    Just becaus it may be normal and common doesn't make it not a bad thing. It is always a bad thing no matter how common it has become.
