Seeing the stars at night without aid of a telescope is impossible to describe. Makes you and what ever is going on seem insignificant. Spending quiet moments with friends without all the interruptions of life. Anywhere with trees and water is fine, desert, not so cool. I'd like to go more often.

NO WAY! I'm too much a princess! LOL! I like my own comfy regular bed, and, more importantly, an indoor toilet and all that! Plus, I tend to get eaten alive by bugs, even w/ Bug Guard, so...

I like to camp out at hotels..... :)
although, camping is fun, but having all the equipment and stuff is a lot of work. I have family that goes all the time, so going along with them is fun.. cuz they have everything. It is nice to wake up early and have coffee, listening to the silence and having fires in the evening.

oh yes, frequently.I like it off the beaten track, low impact on the surroundings and finding that new starlit hilltop miles from town. It's amazing how little one needs to get by for a few days in the bush, layered clothes,a good book, water, tarp, candles, decent blankets,a harmonica and I'm basically good to go,yes, yes, good food,of course...

I 've also had plenty of more elaborate camping setups, which would take rather more time to describe...one of my favorites was the"driftwood Inn"a few of us constructed down on a very nice bit of coastline down near the rivermouth. We left a hammer and nails and folks could come by in their wanderings and add to the structure according to their whims...the place had plenty of driftwood for most of the year, especially after flood season played itself out.As you might expect the place got to be quite cozy and elaborate after a while, and like many good things this magical, timeless, peaceful oasis from the rest of the world was wrecked late one night when two sleeping campers were inexplicably gunned down in cold blood, most likely by a stranger, still unsolved theese several years later...But I live to play another day, although I haven't camped in that location-understandably-I can still hold a vision of the sounds and smells of evenings at the coast when all was well and civilisation far away.

Absolutely - we don't get real winderness here in UK, no that's a lie, we don't have as much as US, and I don't go nearly as often as I would like, but at least once a year that is mine and my daughter's holiday.

Hmm..what to say about camping...
definitely not a part of my life, but I respect the people out there who enjoy it. It is a part of my family's life. They like south va, yogi park and west virginia.
I went camping twice with them. First time I was a kid...attacked by hornets which left me running around the camp w/o pants on. The second time I found myself floating down a 4 hour river tubing experience with cows.

We go camping at the lake here all the time....I usually go with friends and it's just always a good time. It's just a way to get away from everything, spend time with friends and enjoy nature....just the sounds and the sky at night it's just peaceful and usually something we all take for granted.....the beauty of nature, there's nothing better.

It's not a part of my life but it's a great fun.

I remember i camped over the cliffs of Dover in uk for about 3 months in tent, it was during summer holidays i spent in uk. Best view i experienced so far was opening tent in the morning and see white cliff under me, and a view on the France thru La Manche Canal (or whatever it is called). There a great spot in Cappel le ferne, between Folkestone and Dover.

Not presently, however, it was a huge part of my childhood, and I absolutely love camping....We went all over the United States, vacationing, stopping at campgrounds all over the place...My father is very big on wildlife and nature.....(this was a huge influence on my life)....and we always stopped at petting zoos, farms, wildlife parks....It was awesome.
