Cacao is actually a fruit. It's also very healthy for you. When you cut the fruist open it is a soft seet pulp around the seeds that is very tasty and resfreshing. The seeds are what you dry, peel, roast and then grind to have good chocolate. We have only one Cacao tree but it gave over a hundred Cacao this last year. I only processed about 75 of them for Cacao, the rest I let the birds and squirrels eat.
