I find it kind of sickening that the *only* time many people even think of seriously giving to less fortunate people is during the holidays. We shouldn't be letting holidays dictate how generous and charitable we feel towards the people we share this earth with.

i tend to agree with you, somewhat.....giving should be expressed throughout the year, not just during the holidays, people are always in need 24/7....if i have it to give, then i will give...

You should do with your disposable income whatever you wish....

Now, what you wish to do with it says a lot about you....

    Who said that?
People can spend their money on whatever the hell they want to. It's no one else's business.

Screw the less fortunate. My goal is to bring happiness to the people I love.

The struggle by some to commercialize Christmas has been going on for over 200 years. The struggle to make Christmas about peace, goodwill and charity has been going on for far longer. In the mid to late1600's the observance of Christmas was outlawed in Britain and New England. So Christmas has always been a tortured observance.
