It's usually in the feet or lower legs because of poor circulation. I would think it could be anywhere if there is nerve damage or if the blood flow is poor. Please talk to your doctor about this. This is a very serious symptom.

I'm not diabetic but know a little about the disease. There can be pain in the legs and feet. I think it's pretty common there. From what I've heard, it's usually an awful burning sensation. I've never heard of it being in the back. Could be you're not diabetic but are suffering from a pulled disc in your spine. That could radiate down the legs and into the feet in some cases. I would say watch for sores on the feet as they can grow into big problems in someone who is diabetic.

My dad has pains in his feet, hips, legs, and back. See your doc about what you can do.
