i feel bad for her, she already cant walk cause of a car wreck and shes been showing up for these meetings i go to every wk, i guess some dog scratched her which makes me wonder if shes not a diabetic or something, ive gotten scratched and dont get gangrene, she comes every wk, never misses, this has been going on the last couple of wks, i know shes on antibiotics but shouldnt she be in the hospital getting antibiotics thru an iv? instead of coming like nothings wrong? i wondered if she can give it to people in the group, i think shes getting rid of it in one foot but its coming back in the other, when i had strep i had to wear a mask, but she has her one foot exposed and you can see it, shes handing out candy to everyone all thru the meeting, i dont take any, wonder if shes going to have to have them amputated, wouldnt that give her a chance for prosthesis and in some ways be better than constantly not being able to walk for her sake, hope she gets rid of it but why come?

No. Not contagious.

Gangrene is a serious and progressive anaerobic infection. The tissue has to be damaged for the bacteria to get in and with a reduced blood supply for the infection to progress. If untreated, gangrene becomes fatal. Are you sure she has gangrene?<br />

I have never heard of anyone walking around with gangrene.... septicaemia and death are around the corner. Gangrene has a very distinctive odour... it stinks.... Micky

Its not seriously contagious, but its rapidly fatal. if she has gangrene she won't be coming to the meetings very long. Maybe she has something else. Medical attention is advised.

You are ok as long as you have no open cut that rub's against her gang green. That is nothing to fool with. I hope she is ok.
