Is High Def TV worth the price?

I dont watch much TV but was thinking of getting a new TV for the living room.

depends on the tv and what they are asking for it... and you need to receive a hd signal to enjoy hd tv...

Depends what country you are in...Here in Australia if you have a hi def/digital T.V you get a whole lot more T.V stations as well..heaps of them..plus a better picture..

So here in Australia it is worth the price..I never used to think that until I got one.

No. It's a bit prettier than regular TV, but you can buy much prettier things with the amount of money involved in getting a high def TV.

Not to me, I hardly watch television anymore myself and haven't upgraded for that reason.

If you are a sports fan, it is worth the money for sure. All sports take on a completely different look than anything you've seen short of being at the game. I watch college football and you can see individual blades of grass on the field. Your eyes will not tire or dry like they do with SD televisions and now that they have made the switch, everything, even commercials, will be filmed in HD, not getting on now is kind of like those who hung on to black and white televisions after the color sets came out.

I have to say, sports, The Discovery channel. Nat Geo etc all are dramatically better in HD. The rest of network TV is still the same crap so pic quality doesn't matter.
