The saying is one of those "ostrich with head in the sand" type things...<br />
as though if you don't know about something you won't have to worry about it.<br />

Temporarily for the ignorant person it may be. But not to the people it affects. And eventually ignorance affects everyone. There are worse kinds of ignorance than others of course too. It's a complex subject and never a good thing.
