Is it being selfish when people only care about their own kids?
Like last week when school started and my dad was buying me shoes and i told him that my friend needed clothes and shoes and stuff to because her mom don't have the money and he said he is just getting his own kids stuff.

There is a very disturbing trend among many individuals today ....of not knowing the difference between "it would be nice" charity, and "they ought to make it the law" responsibility or requirement.
Natural Law says that by default, your parents are responsible for your needs ....and your friend's parents are responsible for your friend's needs. That is IT, pure and simple.
Beyond that, it is only charity. Voluntary. Only if people feel like it and are willing. Yes, it would be sweet if your parents bought your friends things. But it doesn't mean anything, if they don't ...nothing bad.

He's allowed to love you first, but I don't agree with the fact that he wouldn't buy clothes for someone who needed them. He could have at least done so after he was done doing it for you.

No. A bit overprotective - maybe. But time well spent.

No. It's being a parent and protective of your baby, no matter how old
