Is it illegal to listen to a police scanner on the computer. If not would you listen?

Not illegal in the USA at all. Many people have scanners. I used to have one.

In the UK it would be illegal but it's highly unlikely you'd be able to evesdrop the UK Police nowadays. They've got a new system that runs on a network similar to the mobile phone network. It's actually become quite an embarrassment to them as it can cost them more than mobile phones. In some areas, they are charged two pounds sterlin per second for the use of their radios. So they are encouraged to use mobile phones instead. Nuts eh?
If it were possible, yeah course I'd listen in. :-)
