steppingup , you can block this action in your user " Account Settings " , In your Privacy >> settings Check off :
EP Only (X) to all settings instead of , To the World (0)
EP Support Volunteer Paschar
ACCOUNT SETTINGS
Communication >>
Privacy >> / 8 settings options at the bottom total .
Content Filtering >>
User Account >>

I don't know, but FB is--I googled a 5-string bass guitar, then FB started filling my page with adds for bass guitars.

It's not just EP, the entire internet does this. You are constantly being tracked so they can target advertising towards you.
To be fair, it's probably not EP that is doing it, it's Google. The guys at EP have probably have a google adsense account, place the google ads on their site and google controls the rest.
Thank you to EP Support Volunteer Paschar for showing us how to switch it off.
