I tried using chopsticks and in the end asked for a fork otherwise I would have been at the resturant for the next 2 days trying to eat.

Chopsticks for Asian food, sure.

I have seen someone eat a trifle with chopsticks, but I don't recommend it.

Out of respect for the animal? I don't think it cares anymore, honestly. With regard to the people around you, keep in mind that Americans tend to try to eat all Asian food with chopsticks including things that are finger food in their traditional culture. Stop worrying about it and just enjoy your meal.

Woulden't know about the animal it's just an animal.
But I like chop sticks, they are fun and since I have some Native American lineage and Native Americans came across Beringia from Mongolia etc. I think of myself as having Asian lineage and like to think I could eat with chop sticks.
