Beer is so watered down I don't think it would do any hard just keep in mind that a dog is much smaller than a human and therefore can't handle as much alcohol... I.E Don't give your pooch a 6-pack....

Some dogs like beer. It's probably not good for dogs just as it's really not good for humans. A little social drink won't kill it. Just don't let your pooch overdo it. I don't know if they allow dogs in AA meetings.

I don't thing beer will harm your dog, as long as its not a 2 pawed drinker. (weak attempt at humor ) Our doxie has gotten on the end table by my chair and helped herself to more than one stolen drink out of my glass of beer. Never more than an ounce or two before being caught. She even lapped up half a shot of brandy once, slept real soundly the rest of the evening. Needles to say, after that I never leave any of my drinks where she can reach them.

Beer is not good for a dog. It interferes with their liver functioning.

NO WAY. It is poison to them. Do not ever give them alcohol.

Doesn't alcohol interfere with our liver functioning as well? I say, a little is okay. I don't really think it's cool to get an animal drunk, but...one time I was at a kegger with my dog, Guinness. Every time someone set a cup on the steps of the porch, he would go slurp beer from it a bit. I didn't really realize this until later that night, so of course it was hilarious by then. But the next day, he was just as hungover as I was, he didn't want to get up or do anything besides issue a grumpy groan occasionally.

I think giving a dog beer probably amounts to cruelty. The dog has no idea of the long term effects on its health, or that it will wake up with a hangover.

Considering some of the things I've seen dogs eat (and trust me, you don't want to know), a few licks of beer once in awhile probably won't do any harm. They'll pretty much eat or drink anything you put in front of them, though, so it's important to be responsible.
