Yes, it is perfectly OK but be sensible about it. Choose a bar in a smart establishment that does not encourage women on the loose. This may mean a hotel bar but what would be a good idea is to visit a hotel with a bar and ask to speak to the manager. Tell him/her you would like to take a drink after work but would it be acceptable to use their hotel bar when on your own?
If the hotel is a decent place they will be flattered that you have asked them and you may be sure the bar staff will see that you are welcome. Visit several hotels asking each one and then choose the one that gives you the best reception. If you can, sit at a small table with only one chair and read a book or magazine or do some work while enjoying your drink as well as making sure the hotel staff know you and accept you as a valued customer. You never know, you may get into casual conversation with a suitable man or girl and you can then meet as friends.
Best of luck.
Why not?
But don't make it a regular thing and keep it to just one drink, or you'll take the first step on the road to alcohol dependency.
I once stopped at a hotel bar in Dallas, and within about 5 minutes, a security guy was asking me what my hotel room number was, etc.
I didn't understand what was up - and it turns out he thought I was a hooker that had come to proposition his customers. I was embarassed AND offended.
Think about bars that you have gone to before with your friends, were you confortable? If so, repeat visits so you get to know clients, serviers, cooks, etc. Going to new bars always feel strange, but you make it easy on yourself with bars you already like.
I would grab a drink with you =)
Nothing wrong going solo for a drink.
Sure! Maybe you'll meet somebody and end up having a great time. If you're not... you can always leave. CHEERS!
Of course it is
one word : FREEEEDOOMMM!
Follow your instincts. If you feel O.K., fine.
Depends on the kind of bar (and probably what country you're in). I wouldn't go to a dive bar. But the bar in a nice hotel or the bar section of a decent restaurant or a pub that has mixed clientele (men and women) should be fine.
Well i dont see why not,but i havnt.
Round ere they do.
They're scarier than the blokes.
I'd love to say yes, people can do whatever they want. But bars bring all the boys to the yard, and some of them slip things in drinks...
I don't think so. I think that's where desperate people go. No offense.
Nope. Dangerous in any country, any city. You will attract predators like sharks who smell blood in the water.
Pretty much only prostitutes go to bars by themselves. And only those who are the biggest risk takers.
This is the real world and it is dangerous
