Celibacy is a conscious vow , nocturnal emissions is a subconscious reaction. I cannot see where a conscious vow for celibacy conflicts in any way with normal human physiological functions.

since it's involuntary, I don't think it would be breaking celibacy. But if those wet dreams are caused by dreams of sex and occur frequently, I would wonder whether celibacy is really for them.

**note: I just looked up the definition of celibacy, which is "abstention from sexual relations." By this definition, one could justify wet dreams, and even ************ and fantasizing while under a vow of celibacy. Now, if I were under a vow of celibacy, I wouldn't feel like I were sticking to it if I did that; but technically, one would still fit the definition.

Of course! I mean, who can control their dreams? Plus, I don't care if they did take an oath of celibacy, they are men. It's only natural.

is it really their fault... no one can control what they dream about.

I say this, if it's ok to have a wet dream for an LDS teenage boy (where they can't do anything anyways) it's cool for the monk. They boy made covenants just as strong as the monks and he has to live in the real world. (yes I was LDS and no I am not anymore)

A wet dream is something that cannot be controlled, it is subconscious. It wouldn't be their fault.

Well, yeah, it's okay. They can't help the fact that they have naughty dreams. Since those are from a natural drive that doesnt go away when you repress it.

Its a natural bodily function which they have no control over. I bet Monks get erections too. It has nothing at all to do with their vow of celebacy..that is a vow to refrian from sexual activity (************, intercourse, oral sex, etc.). I personally think the vow itself is unnatural....but I dont knock anyone's beliefs.

Nocturnal emmissions (wet dreams) are involuntary and have nothing to do with celibacy which is a choice, in my view an idiotic choice, but nevertheless a choice of lifestyle.
I think it unlikely though that many monks have wet dreams because celibacy is about not having sexual activity with another person, obviously in the catholic faith that means a female.
(maybe that is why many priests think they are not breaking celibacy rules if they only have sex with boys?)
But I digress, ************, as far as I am aware, is not forbidden under rules of celibacy, and show me any male on earth who says they never **********, and you are showing my a liar!
I would venture to suggest that any male who has made celibacy vows masturbates more often, thereby reducing the incidence of nocturnal emmissions.
So, to sum up, yes they certainly can have involuntary wet dreams, but most will not due to their masturbatory habits.
Habits....Monks... get it? No, probably not!
