It's fine. Let the pup chew a little more, and then the exposed parts will soon be automatically covered with fried puppy.

He chewed it while it was unplugged. He managed to get into a drawer that was a little open and took them. Jeez stop judging without knowing the full story.

puppy could be seriously hurt - i've seen electrical burns in the mouth first hand from a puppy chewing on electrical wires - so puppy proof your home!!! and if you can't replace the cord, you should get yourself a new flatiron...a comprimised cord can be really dangerous...have fun!!! ;-)

you should go buy a cheap metal channel at a hardware store and put the cords inside it to keep the puppy from chewing them it could get electrocuted my puppy winnie dog chewed my mom's computer speaker cables so we only have 1 speaker working but the pup is so cute she's forgiven haha

Maybe you don't need to throw out the cord, but I would suggest taping the exposed area, when it is NOT plugged in, with some electrical tape.

No its not safe if the metal wires show. You or your puppy could get electrocuted from touching it, or it might start a fire. The damaged cord should be replaced before use.

NO! Any exposed electrical wiring can cause shock and/or fire. Use electrical tape to tightly cover any bare spots plus 1 cm beyond on each side of the "damaged area. While this "quick-fix" will allow you to use the appliance, the wiring has been compromised. I recommend replacement of the damaged cord or, if that's not possible, replace the entire appliance as soon as possible.

If it is a quick thing that you are using and standing right there monitoring it, then it may be OK, but you need to wrap it with electrical tape as soon as you can, and keep it unplugged until then

Wrap electrician's tape around the bare spots.

    Dangerous!

is it ok? Probably but not the safest thing. Your risking a shock or a fire that way. Just wrap a little electrical tape around it till you can replace it.
