Is it possible to be "in love with" more than one person?

"Love" is a garbage word in general because it is so subjective and used to excuse poor behavior or used too lightly. However, as I understand the word, I think there are different ways of loving....love one might have for a sibling versus love one might have for a spouse, etc...

Is he saying he "loves" his best friend as in, "I might wind up with her instead" or is he saying he loves her as in she's a great friend?

In my opinion, if he says he loves her as in he might wind up being her lover, then he is just being selfish. Relationships are about compromise, not getting one's way all the time (a lot of women would do good to repeat that to themselves 100 times a day when they wake up). Assuming that you all proclaim to adhere to monogamy standards, then he is just being selfiish if he is keeping both of you "on the line".

It depends on the person's definition for love. To me love is like any other feeling, you can fall in love with more than one person, just like you can kill more than one person due to hatred.

It definitely isnt. U could have a very ''strong crush'' for two or more guys or girls, even to d point u think ur getting confused. The fact is if u dont control ur emotions u could end up stuck in d middle, not knowing which one to pic. But if u control ur emotions, not easily falling for anyone everytime ,u'll find out that when u finally meet ur match, You can only be ''in love with one person'' N that makes life Romantic"
