Pretty much if you start acting some way, kind, helpful, benevolent, thoughtful, even happy; you will find that your self/soul/spirit will acccept this as the new norm and you will be that way.
Try it. It will feel false and like acting for awhile and then you will grow to accept it and it will just be you.
Work on your inner dialogue to. Try to accept and not judge.

I would say you can change to a certain degree if motivated to do so. It probably will be hard cause we are creatures of habit
