Firstly, Asperger's Syndrome isn't a disease, it's a congenital personality disorder. The good news is, once you've made it to 18 things start to get easier. For one thing you won't have to deal with immature schoolkids any more. Also, your high IQ and ability to focus will help you in your studies, which ironically is more important once you leave school.<br />

The general stuff like wearing braces, wearning glasses, being skinny, everyone has to deal with that. It won't last forever. I don't want to criticise your mother but she is wrong to tell you to change. Maybe change the plaid shirts, but nothing else. Wear your AS with pride. Try contacting Aspies in your area, there is usually a group.<br />

btw, a lobotomy isn't a good idea, and no doctor will perform one on you.

You have a chance. Stay alive it will get better. I would not get a lobotomy though.
