Is it possible to teach yourself to ride a motorcycle without taking the safety course?
I have a motorcycle license but I have never taken the safety course. I have searched for courses in my area, but there are none nearby.
I want a bike to be my main means of transportation.
I just need advice on this.

Possible? Yes. Adviseable? Probably not.

Yes of course you can, when i started riding a motorcycle there was no courses. I'm talking in the 60's, you just got on with it yourself and learnt by your mistakes.

it's possible but not wise. And it's not just your life, but everybody's who is on the road with you.

I believe it's required by law now.... How did you get a license without knowing how to ride? I failed twice before I got mine, ended up taking the course and it was VERY helpful...

I drove a 600cc motorcycle without a license for years as my only vehicle and I never crashed.

it is possible i rode for 5 monmths before taking the course and had never ridden before....but TAKE the class...in some states its the easiest way to get your license....but it really helps and makes you think....be careful and WATCH for moving hubcaps at intersections......and know they dont look for you....you have to pretend they are all out to kill you and drive defensively...at least around here ya do.....good luck and ride safe!!
