Wrong question, my dear. You should be asking, "Why am I attracted to a person who doesn't respect me proves it by saying horrible things about me to his ex-girlfriend?"

Or, let's turn it around so that I am the one asking the question. Ok?

Here goes, "My new girlfriend still talks to her ex-boyfriend
and says terrible things about me." What should I do?
