Is it possible...?

...to change your personality, or is it so fundamental that you're pretty much stuck with what you were born with? Can people really be "born losers" and "born winners"?

i think that people with mental fortitude can create the reality that they want in life. i don't believe that anyone is sealed to their fate as a "born loser" or "born winner". it might be easier to be a "born winner" if one was from a powerful family...

I believe it is. I think consequences and our reactions to them are what determine our personalities.

I believe we are each born with a basic personality type, but that our environment and how we react to it shapes us from that point forward. We have choices as to how we act in and react to life, and these can be positive or negative. The attitude we assume when making those choices is what I think determines all.

Keep the personality and change how one reacts to situations.

It's the choices that people make that determine the direction of their lives. Someones bad choices can start you out wrong but it's YOUR choices that can change things for the better or make them worse.

Enigma, I think your personality is great! I just think you need to find a way to show it to the world... or just a those in your day to day life...

Can you find a way to have more self-esteem and confidence and less anxious and depressed?

ABSOLUTELY. And you're strong enough to do it.

To me "loser"/"winner" are not personality features. They are labels for how much someone fulfills the ideals of success in a society. It is rather about capabilities and I think this is totally changeable.

Now, personality itself is not so malleable, because it sits much deeper. However, I would say it can change, not drastically but for sure to some extent.

By the way, I fully agree with SunshineEddy when she says you have already a great personality and just need to show it to the world.

It is if you want it strongly enough.

looser or winner depends on the right circumstances @ the right time. All a matter of right time & right place. @ birth- you are neither winner nor looser- "its experience" that has a common tendency to (convince) the "experiencer" of what "they are." If you are a newborn- you can be neither one until you have 1st experienced the world 1st hand...

We can all learn to be winners, we can all learn to be losers. Personality is largely genetic, but can be altered by experience, and work. There may be some tendency for genetics to leave one pre-disposed to more easilly fall for the idea that they are a loser, and thus let themselves lose. However it can be overcome in anyone. Just the unique challenges thrown at us all.

Yes it is very possible, but first you must know what your faults are and then work on changing them. Unfortunately there are some of us who are to thick,or think they're very smart in being jerks. Those ones will not change.

I'm not sure we can change our personalities; one is born to a certain disposition I believe.

However, as long as we have Free Will, we have the power to change how we act in any situation.
