Yes, and when you do, focus on how Jesus talked about love, acceptance and forgiveness. Realize that he went against the religious systems of the time because they were corrupt. See how he would not go for the religious bigotry and hate mongering of modern religion.

Easily, but why would you want to? Find a shorter story to start with.

"realistic" and "testament" are words that do not belong in the same sentence.

The latest testament, sadly, does not contain the 10 commandments. You should read the earlier and later testaments in order, otherwise you only get a small part of the story.

Why do you need to read it at such a heady pace? Is there a test at the end?

Look if you must read it I would highly recommend you read a more complete version of the bible which includes extra books. It's called the Apocrypha. It's extremely enlightening.

Apocrypha: a group of 14 books, not considered canonical, included in the Septuagint and the Vulgate as part of the Old Testament, but usually omitted from Protestant editions of the Bible.

Yes. I read both the old and new in less than a few weeks.
I wouldn't recommend it, though. It was not enjoyable.

Yes. I know Harry Potter fans who read the long books in a day. You might not take eveything in, but you could easily read it in that time.
