Resolved Question

Years ago (32 to be exact) my then husband sold off my sterling flatware he had given me for a birthday in 1977. He had menitoned that the sterling flatware was worth more then than when it was purchased, but I never did give him authority to sell my flatware! I noticed the silver chest was empty and that is how I found out he had sold my flatware. Now, years later I have menitoned that I would like for him to replace it, and he got mad and cursed me out. We are on friendly terms usually, but I do think it is only right of him to replace the flatware. We were not in dire straights when he sold my flatware. He always did spend more than he made , however. What do you think? Frankly, I do not want him as a friend any more as well.

No he should have asked you first, and if you did not agree then he should have left them alone as they were your present, not his.
