Totally depends on how you go about it. Did you talk it over with his mom first? And are you sure that your nephew would enjoy and appreciate martial arts? If those things happened first, then I think it's a nice idea. If those things didn't happen, then yes, it could be rude and inappropriate.

Had it been MY nephew, IF HE had expressed an interest in martial arts, I would have probably paid ahead for a month or two only to see if it's really something that he would want to be part of his life! :-)

I don't know if it is rude or inappropriate but it isn't smart.he may do one training session and hate it,.

It's rude to not ask the parents if they are ready for, or want that level of commitment.
