Is it safe to drive after sigmoidoscopy procedure?
Posted 3 months ago
Best Answer
Check with your doc.

They told me not to drive because the anesthetic caused impairment the same as drinking alcohol. On the way home I thought they were full of it (wife drove), but the next day I realized that I didn't remember much of the drive home. Kinda like a blackout.

Usually they tell you to have someone to drive you home because of the effects of the anesthesia. I wouldn't do it.

If you have anesthetic it may not be safe. Because they pump air up your *** you may not feel like it even if you could! All you want to do is expell all that air. I was afraid if it came out all at once I might bounce around inside the car like a punctured balloon!

If you have had this procedure done with anesthesia, your not to drive. Your impaired mentally. Frankly, I had a sigmoidoscopy procedure a few months ago and I still can't remember how I got to the car and home :0 I do know that my Hubby drove me tho!!

I agree that any procedure that required anaesthesia other than local will impair your driving reactions. Seek the advice of your medical people; but I would say its not safe to drive.
