Is it safe to spray paint my bird cage with any kind of paint?

so long as the bird is not in it at the time, you let the paint dry all the way, and theres no lead in the paint, I don't see why not.

I doubt it since most birds use their beaks to help themselves climb around the cage, including the sides, which runs the risks of chipping. I would call a local bird store and ask to make sure....

I would be sure to seal the dry paint too with a non toxic sealer.

Not if there's a bird in there.

I wouldn't risk it. Birds peck and scratch and use their beaks to climb up the sides. They'll be little teenie microscopic bits of paint caught on their beaks and their little feet. And you never know, some paints give off vapor for years. Don't cover the cage at night and trap the vapors? You wouldn't want little tweetie to be a canary in a coal mine!

NO! Do not spray paint the cage. Go get another one if the bird has pecked through paint. Birds are XTRA sensative to our toxin and will keel over fast if exposed. So please do not spray cage. Find your sweet birdie a new home.
