Raising kids is wonderful and beautiful and important. I wouldn't qualify it though. There are other important things.
The key here is if you're going to do something, do it right and take it seriously. Children are a gift that should not be taken for granted.

I'd say it's one of the most beautiful and important things; certainly it's one of the most challenging to do right. But there are many important and worthy goals in life; having kids is not the pinnacle of accomplishment. (**Not said in a mean way; just that you shouldn't give up your dreams just because you have kids)

I think that those who think it is the most beautiful thing are the ones who can do it correctly. Or maybe it is reverse, maybe for those who can do it correctly it is the most beautiful thing. Who knows...I just know there are lots of people out there who would give anything for someone to care about them...both children, and adults who didnt get that the first time around. And there's only one solution.

I don't know if it is always the most beautiful :-) but important - definitely! Badly raised children form the next generation of society and at the end of the day the costs of failing in this important task is felt by all.
